Dr. Hans F. Lessmann, Executive Director of VDI, is a Board Certified Fellow in both Vision and Light therapy by the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (www.covd.org) and the College of Syntonic Optometry (www.csovision.org). He has won numerous awards, including being named Pennsylvania’s Optometrist of the Year in 2003 and the Charlie Butts Award in 2019.
He enjoys solving complex vision and developmental problems for all ages from infancy to late adulthood. Dr. Lessmann is the father of a daughter with Down syndrome and understands the concerns of children with special needs and their parents.
Amy has been with the practice since 1992. She handles administration and covers the front desk. She also maintains the inventory of the many stylish frames in our optical frame room. Amy understands the value of services at VDI and can address questions from prospective new patients.
Maria joined the Vision Development Institute in 2009 training under senior therapists and continues her vision therapy education through COVT course work. Uniquely she is a Certified Suzuki Method violin instructor and also adept at homeschooling. She has a daughter who benefited from vision therapy and finds it very rewarding helping patients of all ages obtain their goals through vision therapy.
Kathryn has been a vision therapist since 2019. An off-chance meeting with another mom whose daughter just completed therapy at Vision Development Institute led to her children excelling in academics. Kathryn loves to see the results of children learning, growing, and excelling in life. She holds her MS in education and leadership. She is a certified Eden Method energy medicine practitioner, a reiki master, and owner of The Energy Medicine Connection, LLC. Kathryn enjoys concerts, traveling, camping, and walking in the woods with her family and friends.
